How To Start Off The New Year Right

“Hey! 2019 isn’t over yet! Why are you telling us how to start the new year already?” I’m sure that’s what you’re all asking. Well the answer is simple. To start the new year right, you have to end this year right too. In this blogpost, I’m going to be detailing some things that you could be doing NOW to make sure that you can have a successful 2020.

  1. Exercise

I know, I know. This is the thing that EVERYONE does when the New Year begins. All the gyms start to fill up in January and empty out in February. However, you don’t have to wait until 2020 to start exercising! The first month of exercising is the hardest. It’s so hard to get into a routine, find time to exercise, get to the gym, etc. but that’s exactly why you should start now! Get a head start on everyone else. It’ll be easier to exercise and get in the groove of it when everything is still empty. Get started today, you won’t regret it.

  1. Start Dieting Now

Why wait? Holiday dinners are coming up soon. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, or just like to make a big family dinner, everyone is going to be FEASTING this month. So instead of waiting for January to start the diet, why not diet now? Offset those big feasts, make sure all of that turkey, ham, and bread aren’t going to turn you into a Santa Claus impersonator. Go Keto, Vegan, Low-sodium, Sugar-free, or whatever else now and get ahead of everyone else!

  1. Let Everyone Know

That’s kind of vague, but let me explain. The best way to start off your year is by surrounding yourself with happy, supportive, and honest people. Have you told your child JUST how much you love them? Did your spouse do something that made you feel grateful? Has someone been making you mad lately? Tell them! Tell everyone what’s on your mind in a nice way. Start off the new year with a light heart and clear mind. Let everyone you love know just how much you love them. Let everyone know how their actions affect you. Open your mind and your heart, make your voice be heard. That’s the perfect way to start off the new year, and an ESPECIALLY perfect way to start off the new decade.

  1. Reflect

Reflection is incredibly important when it comes to self improvement. You can’t improve if you don’t realize what needs to be improved on. Think hard about your year. What could you have done better? What did you amazingly well? Did you put enough effort into your life this year? Was this a year you could be proud of? Were you the best you that you could be? Could you be kinder, more understanding, empathetic, altruistic, or loving? Could you do more to help you, your loved ones, the community, or those in need? These are all questions to think about when it comes to forming your resolutions. Personally, my resolution is to volunteer more and listen more to those who having opposing viewpoints. Do you have any ready yet? Let us know in the comments.
