How To Get Beautiful Skin
Your skin is the largest organ in your body, it helps keep toxic chemicals, radiation, and debris in the air from getting into your body, it helps keep you warm and cool, it helps protect your delicate veins from being hurt during impacts, and so much more! It only makes sense to try and keep your skin happy and healthy. There are a few things you can do to help keep your skin beautiful, radiant, and healthy.
-
Drink water. Stay hydrated! Staying hydrated is a vital part of health and it’s actually very important in keeping your body functioning properly. However, it’s especially important for the skin. When you’re dehydrated, your skin becomes dry, cracked, dull, and it just becomes less beautiful overall. No matter how much oil, lotion, or whatever else you put on, your skin will continue to look dull and dry if you aren’t drinking water.
-
Exfoliate. Don’t know what that means? It’s simple, exfoliating is the process of removing the top layer of dead skin cells through physical or chemical means. There are two main ways to exfoliate, the most popular method is taking a GENTLE abrasive and scrubbing the face and skin very gently to get the top layer of skin cells off. The top layer of skin cells makes it difficult for products such as moisturizer, expensive creams, and serums to be absorbed by your skin. Exfoliating allows those products to sink in much more efficiently and it also makes the fresh new skin cells show, making your skin look beautiful, smooth, and radiant. Try using a small amount of baking soda as an exfoliant next time you wash your face, or purchase a silicon face scrubber. The other method of exfoliating is through chemical peels. Chemical peels can be purchased from many places under the name AHA, or Alpha Hydroxy Acid. Consult your doctor before using chemical peels as they are better used by people who have more experience.
-
Use Rosehip Oil. Rosehip oil is like nature’s Botox. Do you know what botox stands for? Botox is short for Botulinum Toxin. Most people strongly advise against botox, as you are quite literally injecting a toxin into your face that freezes your muscles so that you can no longer move them. Instead of doing something so dangerous and detrimental, why not try Rosehip Oil? It works as a catch all product that is perfect for those who want to do more skincare but who might not have any time to do so. Rosehip oil firms skin, brightens and evens out skin tone, treats wrinkles and fades scars, and even acts as an exfoliant AND a moisturizer! It truly is a wonder product. Come into Cook’s and purchase it while you still can!
-
Moisturize. Moisturizing is one of the most important parts of skin care. If you want to take care of your skin, the most basic routine you can have is washing your face and using a good moisturizer. Moisturizer helps keep skin looking radiant, plump, beautiful, elastic, and smooth. Without it, your skin can look dull, dry, and lifeless. Did you know oily skin is often a symptom of extremely dry skin? When your skin is too dry, it produces oil in excess so that it can retain moisture.

WASH YOUR FACE! I know, this one seems obvious, but it’s THE most important step in your skin care routine. It does NOT matter if you use the worlds most expensive lotions, serums, creams, or the blood of a golden dragon as a facial oil. If you aren’t washing your face properly, then you are going to be stuck with dull, dry, lifeless skin. Make sure you’re washing your face with a face wash or a bar soap that is dedicated to your face only for at LEAST 60 seconds in the night AND morning. When you wash your face, move your hands in small circles to make sure you’re getting into every pore, fold, nook, and cranny. If you aren’t washing your face properly, then all the oils, dirt, makeup, or whatever else you accumulate on your face through the day will clog up your pores, damage your skin, and can even make you sick. Your skin acts as a barrier from outside pollution, but if it stays there long enough, it can start to seep through. At the very least, you should wash your face at night. Sleep is when your skin (and your whole body) works the hardest to repair itself, but having a dirty face when you sleep can damage and age your skin.
How To Get Beautiful Hair
Beautiful hair is something that gets noticed instantly. Try to think about all the times you’ve seen someone with some seriously gorgeous hair, and think about just how quickly you noticed and how quickly you complimented them! Getting beautiful hair can be complicated since it is so different from person to person, but if you follow these guidelines, then it can make your hair journey a LOT easier.
-
Wash when you need it. Most people wash their hair everyday because it’s what they’ve been doing since they were born, but depending on your hair type, you might not need to. People with finer hair might have to wash their hair every day because of how quickly the natural oils their scalp produces spread, but people with thicker, longer, and coarser hair might not need to. For instance, most people with a C4 hair type may wash their hair once every two weeks. Washing your hair every day might be damaging your hair, as it could be drying it out and depriving it of the natural oils that help keep it healthy, beautiful, and shiny.
-
Find out your hair type. Hair type needs to be considered when checking out products. If you have coarse, textured hair, products that are meant for people with thin hair could damage your curls. If you are someone with thin hair who is using products meant for people with curls and texture, your products may not be doing as much as they could. Here’s a chart that helps explain the different types of hair. Of course, these aren’t the only types, your hair could be a mix, or halfway between certain categories, but it’s helpful for getting a basic routine started.
3. Take supplements. A lot of people aren’t getting the vitamins they need to help keep their hair beautiful and healthy. Consider Cook’s Hair, Skin and Nails.
